POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to Scholar at Risk’s Executive Director, develop prospecting and cultivation strategies to increase individual and foundation giving. Maintain and enhance systems for prospect management, including the development and implementation of various reports and data retrievals. Draft briefings and external communications for the Executive Director. Promote the University and Scholars at Risk programs and initiatives to cultivate active donors and solicit volunteer participation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Required Experience: 2+ years fundraising and event management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven track record for organizing and improving systems. Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically, set actionable goals and successfully implement them to further the mission of an organization.
- Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Acute attention to detail and a high level of professionalism. Ability to manage projects across various programs simultaneously, including prioritization and execution of multiple tasks, meeting tight deadlines and working in a fast paced environment. Ability to professionally interact with all levels of staff, faculty and other populations. Extensive knowledge of word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated interest in human rights and/or higher education. Familiarity with budget management, including the development of expenditure projections. Experience with program development and evaluation, a plus. Adaptability to a variety of interpersonal interactions, both internally and externally.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $63,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
