The 2018 IMISCOE Annual Conference raises the theme “Europe, migrations and the Mediterranean: human mobilities and intercultural challenges” and will take place in Barcelona from July 2-4, 2018. The aim is to draw attention to the geographical dimension of migration, and to approach human mobilities as a reality and diversity as a resource and an opportunity to connect societies and cities in the Mediterranean area.
SAR staff and a Syrian scholar of archeology will be speakers in the “Academics Seeking International Protection: Conceptual and Policy Challenges” workshop. Participants will hear about ways in which European universities can support at-risk and refugee scholars and enable them to continue their important work in safety.
