Rezvan Moghadam, an Iranian scholar of sociology and gender studies spoke on the role women’s movement in the democratic movement in Iran at Queen’s University Belfast, University of Ulster Belfast, and University of Ulster in Derry. These events were a part of SAR’s Ireland Speaker Series tour.

Rezvan Moghadam is a Iranian human activist, scholar, and founder of several Iranian women organizations and campaign for gender equality. Ms. Moghadam has founded/co-founded various committees to empower women on issues of peace, environment, health and gender such as The Women’s Committee in Iran, The One Million Signature Campaign, International Campaign Against Violence in Iran (ICAVI), and the All against Acid attack Campaign. Rezvan Moghaddam has a Masters in Mathematics and Psychology and is a PhD candidate at FU Berlin in the field of gender studies. She won Quadriga award in Germany in third of October 2009 for her peace activism.
