The Magna Charta Observatory, the University of Bologna, and the University of Pécs will host the Ceremony for the Signing of the Magna Charta by universities committed to upholding fundamental higher education values and a conference for higher education professionals.

SAR’s Joyce Pisarello will chair a roundtable discussion on “The university and the future of democracy.” Discussion topics will include university communities under threat from authoritarian forces, programs that support university values, and obstacles to implementing programming to support at-risk scholars and institutions, among others.
