European Student Advocacy Days at the University of Trento

Scholars at Risk, in collaboration with the University of Trento, the University of Padova, and SAR Italy, and co-funded by the European Union, invites students and faculty to join us December 14-15 at the University of Trento for European Student Advocacy Days 2023. Scholars at Risk’s annual Student Advocacy Days events bring students and faculty from SAR’s Student Advocacy Seminars together for training on best practices in advocacy on behalf of imprisoned scholars, and to foster respect for academic freedom.

The event will also feature student presentations on their efforts to advocate in support of academic freedom and individual Scholars in Prison; roundtables with SAR scholars on the role of solidarity within international higher education community, effective advocacy, risks and threats, and higher education values; a session on the state of academic freedom in Europe; and a workshop with civil society partners on storytelling in advocacy campaigns. A formal program will be announced at a later date.
