IACHR Hearing on Academic Freedom

On Tuesday, November 12 from 9AM to 10:30AM, join SAR and our close partners virtually at a regional thematic hearing at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR). SAR’s goal is to present a regional analysis of attacks on academic freedom and university autonomy in the Americas and provide the IACHR with valuable information for its oversight work.
SAR will be joined by the Coalition for Academic Freedom in the Americas, the Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC) of the University of Ottawa, Scholars At Risk (SAR), Aula Abierta, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), the Asociación Iniciativa Puentes por los Estudiantes de Nicaragua (IPEN), the Observatorio Nacional de Violencia contra Educadoras/es de Brasil (ONVE) and the Red Académicxs en Riesgo (Academic Network at Risk).
