Refugees and the Academy: Protection of Academics at Risk
Monday, Dec 18 2017 12:00 am
The Rectors’ Conference of Public Universities of Madrid (CRUMA) will host a day-long conference with the goal of raising awareness of the diversity of refugees, the multiple reasons for asylum, and the need to work for an inclusive society in Madrid.
The event will also aim to improve international protections of human rights, especially those for freedom of expression and opinion that affect scientific production; and train NGOs, public administrations, students, teachers, researchers, and university staff about the reception of refugees to university centers.
The conference is free and open to the public. See a full program of the event here.
