On the 19th of August 2019 the Australian University USC will officially launch its USC Scholars at Risk Chapter. The launch is the culmination of two years of work establishing and developing a chapter model that will not only work to advocate for the collective good of the Scholars at Risk network, but will have a positive impact on the extracurricular experiences of its student body. A key value of USC is Social Justice with the commitment to advancing human rights within a free, tolerant and inclusive society recognised in USC’s strategic plan. The Chapter’s development, its launch, and the subsequent events, seminars and volunteering/internship opportunities are a reflection of that commitment to the values and goals of Scholars at Risk and USC as a higher education institution.
