Billur Cinar

Billur Cinar is a remote Advocacy Intern at Scholars at Risk, focusing on researching and reporting on attacks on higher education communities for SAR’s Academic Freedom Monitoring Project. Billur grew up in Istanbul, where she attended a French high school, and currently lives in Paris, where she studies business law at the University of Panthéon-Assas. Billur previously interned at UNICEF France, where she conducted legal research, and has volunteered at, a non-profit that promotes philanthropy. Billur has always had a deep interest in
human rights, especially freedom of speech and children’s rights.
Billur is fluent in Turkish, French and English, and would also like to learn German and/or Italian. In her free time, she likes writing and water coloring.
