Leona Binz

As Program Associate for Scholars at Risk’s Protection Services, Leona Binz assesses applications for placement from potentially at-risk scholars and offers career support services to SAR scholars. Prior to joining SAR, Leona worked as a Program Assistant for the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies at The New School and completed internships with Amnesty International and the Peruvian human rights organization Coordinadora Nacional de Derechos Humanos. Leona holds an M.A. in International Affairs from The New School and a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the Free University of Berlin. She speaks fluent German and Spanish, has a working knowledge of Portuguese, and is learning Turkish.
