As the Advocacy Intern at SAR for summer 2021, Sydney conducts research on SAR’s Scholars in Prison cases, researches and writes reports on attacks against higher education communities for the Academic Freedom Monitoring Project, helps run SAR’s advocacy communications across Twitter and Facebook, and helps publish several of SAR’s newsletters, including the weekly Academic Freedom Media Review and the monthly Advocacy Insider. Prior to interning with SAR, Sydney has interned with the EveryWoman Treaty, has worked with the Crowd Counting Consortium, Connecticut Working Families, and has worked on a variety of political campaigns. Sydney is currently obtaining a B.A. in Political Science and Human Rights from the University of Connecticut.
