At least one student was injured on the campus of Punjab University Lahore on September 3, 2022, during a violent clash between rival student groups, leading to gunfire. It is not clear as of this report what led to the incident, or which groups were involved. 

Scholars at Risk is concerned about violence on campus. In addition to the harm to the immediate victims, such actions endanger the entire university community, undermine academic freedom, and diminish the ability of the university space to function.
